Yutung factory developed the pneumatic rubber fender net type by ISO17357. This is a high-strength and high-anti-corrosion fender system.
Types of Pneumatic Fender
Sling type
Sling type means the pneumatic fender with any type of net, it has the end shackle and swivel for the rope and chain sling to the ships or ports etc.
Pneumatic Rubber Fenders that are supplied without factory-fitted nets are referred to as a sling type. This fender has modified end fittings allowing the fender to be lifted and installed efficiently.
Tire Chain Net Type
Most of the clients will order this type of Fender. The fender is around by the chain and tire net. It is originally from Yokohama Japan. So we also called it Yokohama Pneumatic Rubber Fender.
Chain nets are able to withstand corrosion longer and are usually built with used tyres and rubber sleeves to provide additional protection.

Characteristic of the Pneumatic Rubber Fender
A pneumatic rubber fender is also called an inflatable rubber fender.
For more than 90% of applications, our clients will use a pneumatic rubber fender with a tire chain net. So what we called a pneumatic rubber fender, refers to the fender with a tire chain net.
The Yokohama Pneumatic fender is covered by a tire chain net, and this prolongs the use life of this inflatable air-filled pneumatic rubber fender.
We use the used tyre for the net of our fenders, all the tires will be done with the fresh black painting treatment, and the surface is beautiful just like new.
Our chain has the characteristic of anti-UV and anti-sea corrosion ability. All the chains are zinc galvanized treatments. We also have a PP high-density rope to replace Chain, this rope is also anti-uv, anti-sea water, anti-abrasion and anti-corrosion. Please refer above rope type.
The diameter of our pneumatic rubber fender is from 0.2m to 5m, and the length is from 0.5m to 12m. That means the biggest pneumatic rubber fender we manufactured is 5mx12m. The size we talked about here is only for the pneumatic rubber fender body size, the size of the tire chain net, rope net and rubber mat are all excluded.
High Energy Absorption
The energy absorption is the main technical data of the pneumatic rubber fender.
As the tonnage of the ship increases, the impact energy of the ship contacting the shore or other vessels increases exponentially during berthing operations.
The huge impact energy must be absorbed by the full deformation of the fender and sufficient contact area. Our pneumatic fender compression deformation could be more than 60%, and the contact surface area expands with the compression deformation increasing. This fender’s energy absorption ability is much more than other types of fenders.
Super Low Reaction Force
We fill the low-pressure air inside the inflatable fenders, so the inner pressure is increased and limited during the compression deformation.
Due to the large contact of the surface, the pressure on the ship contact area is low. Compared with other ship fenders, this is not only a low reaction force, it is a super low reaction force rubber marine fender.
Good Inclined Contact During Operation
For ships, there must be a certain angle of access to the shore and the possibility of connecting the ship. Our inflatable pneumatic fenders are much more adaptable to inclined contacts than other fenders.
Floating Ability, Idle for Swing Ship
Yutung inflatable floating fenders float on the surface of the water ( over 50% of the body area). And by the tiding, the fender position will not change with respect to the ship’s position. In particular, when the ship sways with the waves, the cylindrical inflatable fenders roll with little friction.
Therefore, it will not damage the shipping coating and also can ease the swinging and vibrating of the ship.
Application
These rubber inflatable pneumatic fenders have been widely used in oil tankers, container ships, yachts, offshore platforms, large docks, military port terminals, large bridge piers, etc.
