What is an arch fender?
Arch fenders are rubber fenders with an arch-shaped profile. This structure helps distribute berthing force and provides stable energy absorption for vessels during docking.
They are widely used for ports, jetties, wharves, shipyards and marine structures where reliable side protection is required.

Arch fenders are commonly available in two main types. Type A is a standard arch fender without a UHMWPE face pad, while Type B is fitted with a UHMWPE pad to reduce friction and improve the contact surface during berthing.
For this Indonesia project, the client selected Type B arch fenders with blue UHMWPE pads.
Arch Fender-Type A
Type A arch fenders are molded rubber fenders without UHMWPE face pads. They are suitable for many dock and marine protection applications where a simple rubber contact surface is enough.
Arch Fender-Type B
Type B arch fenders are fitted with UHMWPE face pads on the front contact surface. The UHMWPE pad helps reduce friction between the vessel and the fender, and it can be selected in different colors according to project requirements.
Project Description
YT Marine manufactured Type B arch rubber fenders for a new client in Indonesia.
This project included 3 pcs of SA-B500 × 3000 mm arch fenders with blue UHMWPE face pads. Each fender had 10 anchor holes, so the full order required 30 sets of anchor bolts.
The standard anchor hole for this model is M42. According to the client’s request, we provided SS304 stainless steel anchor bolts for this project.
Before production, we prepared drawings and sent them to the client for approval. After the drawings were confirmed, we arranged production according to the approved design.

This is the first order from a new client in Indonesia. They need 3 pieces of arch fenders, Type B, model SA500 x length of 3000mm, with blue UHMWPE sheet. The standard anchor hole is M42, we provide stainless steel 304 bolts for them according to their request.
Before production, we send our drawings to them for approval.
SS304 Anchor Bolts
For arch fender installation, anchor bolts can be selected according to the dock structure and project environment.
There are usually two installation options: pre-built anchor bolts for new concrete and anchor bolts for existing concrete. For this Indonesia project, the client required pre-built anchor bolts.
For material selection, stainless steel and hot-dip galvanized Q235 carbon steel are both common options. This client selected SS304 stainless steel anchor bolts for better corrosion resistance in marine environments.
The arch fender size was SA-B500 × 3000 mm, with 10 holes on each fender. A total of 30 sets of anchor bolts were prepared for delivery.
We have two types of anchor bolts, one is a prebuilt anchor bolt for new concrete, and the other is one for existing concrete. This client needs anchors for prebuilt anchor bolts.
Regarding the anchor materials, we also have stainless steel and carbon steel Q235 with hot galvanised for choice.
Arch fender size is SA500x3000mmL, it has 10 holes each. The standard anchor bolt is M42, a total of 30 sets of anchor bolts for delivery.
Packing
The arch rubber fenders were packed on pallets for shipment.
The anchor bolts were packed separately in a wooden case to protect the stainless steel parts during handling and transportation.
The packing method was arranged according to international shipping requirements and the freight agent’s packing request.
