For this Indonesia shipyard project, YT Marine manufactured four custom curved EVA foam bow fenders according to the approved drawing. The fenders were designed to follow the vessel bow profile and were prepared with mounting straps and fixing hardware for shipyard installation.
This project is part of our custom EVA boat and yacht fenders range. These fenders are made for boats, workboats, yachts and other vessels that require lightweight, fitted protection around the bow, stern or vessel side.
Custom Ø420 mm Curved Bow Fender Design
The main fender body had a maximum diameter of Ø420 mm. The two end sections were tapered to Ø280 mm, helping the finished fender follow the required bow shape more smoothly.
A Ø24 mm inner pipe was incorporated through the foam body according to the approved drawing. This internal passage allows the customer to route steel wire or another suitable fixing method through the fender during installation.

EVA Foam Core and Black SPUA Coating
The bow fenders used a 50 kg/m³ closed-cell EVA foam core. Nylon cord fabric and fibre reinforcement were incorporated into the fender body to improve the structural strength of the curved profile.
The finished surface was coated in black SPUA. The EVA foam core helps reduce overall weight, while the outer coating helps protect the fender surface in marine operating conditions.
Mounting Straps and Fixing Hardware
The order included fibre mounting straps with SS304 hooks, SS304 M12 × 200 mm screws and matching fastening parts. The strap arrangement was designed to secure the curved bow fender in the required position on the vessel.
Hot-dip galvanized steel strap fixing frames were also prepared according to the drawing. The frames used 75 × 75 × 6 mm angle steel and were matched with the strap installation arrangement.
Production and Final Inspection
Before coating, the foam fender bodies were shaped to the confirmed curved profile. The reinforcement, inner pipe position, strap locations and fixing details were checked during production.
After the black SPUA coating was completed, the fenders were inspected and wrapped with protective film. This helped protect the finished surface during handling, packing and transportation.
Packing and Dispatch Preparation
The four finished bow fenders were packed on one pallet for dispatch.

The fenders were securely arranged and loaded for onward delivery to the Indonesia shipyard.
