What is an arch fender?
Arch fender means arch-shaped fender.
Arch fenders have a curved profile and are designed to distribute stress evenly during vessel berthing. They can be used in various applications, including ports and jetties.
Material
Arch fenders are typically made from rubber or elastomeric materials. The rubber used in these fenders is a special type of synthetic or natural rubber with properties that allow it to absorb energy and withstand the forces generated during vessel berthing.
Mostly our arch fender will be made of natural rubber.
Characteristics
The rubber material used in arch fenders should have the following characteristics:
High Energy Absorption:
The fender should be able to absorb the kinetic energy generated during impact to protect both the vessel and the structure.
Resistance to Abrasion and Wear:
As fenders are exposed to repeated impacts, they should be able to withstand abrasion and wear without significant degradation.
Resistance to Environmental Factors:
The fender material should be resistant to environmental factors such as UV radiation, salt water, and temperature variations.
Flexibility and Durability:
The fender needs to be flexible enough to adapt to various berthing angles and durable enough to have a long service life.
Low Reaction Force:
The fender’s design and material should help minimize the reaction force transferred to the berthing vessel.
Non-marking Properties:
In some applications, it is desirable for the fender material not to leave marks on the vessel’s hull.
The specific rubber compound used can vary depending on the manufacturer and the intended application. Different grades of rubber may be used to achieve different performance characteristics, allowing for customization based on specific berthing requirements and environmental conditions.
Process
It is made by mould compression process. In this case, the H, B, and b sizes will be fixed already in our current mould.
To meet your the specially installation requirement, we can move the holes position while production.
Specification
We Distinguish different arch fender specifications by height, like we have SA250H, SA300H, SA400H, SA500H, SA600H, SA800H, SA1000H etc. The length could be 1m, 1.5m, 2m, 2.5m, or any special length to meet your requirement.
You can also cut end shape to meet your installation requirement. Please refer the arch fender in the left of this picture.
UHMWPE Fender Cover
To add the abrasion of the arch fender, we can added the UHMWPE fender cover on the top of the arch fender.
Also we can use the fender+steel frame+uhnwpe face pad type to add the abrasion of the application.
Arch Fender Installation Bolt Set
The installation bolts sets consist by the concret pre-built-in bolt, L washer and the thread bolts.

The installation bolt could be HDG (hot dipped galvanization carbon material) or stainless steel, this diagram for your reference.
